- In 2012 CBHCC was funded by SNV to form and train COWSO in existing water projects in Arumeru and Meru Districts (Arusha Region) and Mwanga Districts (Kilimanjaro Region).
- The water projects existed but had management problems which led to non availability of water to some of the villages.
- A total of 20 COWSOs were supported.
